Roleplay rules / General Rules of City of Lost Angels
1 – Don’t be an asshole Out of Character (OOC)
2 – NO Godmodding
NO Metagaming
NO Powergaming
3 – Whatever RP limits you have for yourself must be given to others. (i.e. if your limit is not to be set on fire, you are not allowed to then go set people on fire.)
Always check another player’s RP limits before starting a scene with them that may include intense themes. This lets you know what they are and aren’t comfortable including in play. Examples of these themes are: torture, sexual assault, character death, and mutilation.
We recommend listing your RP limits in a pick. This way other players can easily know what you are and aren’t comfortable in scenes with your character.
If a player doesn’t have limits listed in their profile, you must check with them before engaging in intense themes with their character, a simple IM will do.
4 – Use OOC chat in local sparingly and always in brackets. Harassment/Trolling/Racism/Sexism/Homophobia should be kept out of Local and group chats, If the situation goes to private IMs we encourage players to mute and derender offending parties and if need be alert local GMs.
5 – NO chat spam or audio spam gestures allowed. Spankers are OK, but PLEASE do NOT spam the chat with them. Spank responsibly, please.
6 – NO CHILD AVATARS. NO AGEPLAY. NON-NEGOTIABLE.
7 – NO non-CCS third party game HUDS (Necro, Bloodlines, Angels & Demons…and others, if it can disrupt the community by introducing conflicts that are not related to the community, don’t use it, period.)
8 – Do NOT use OOC/IRL information against someone in character. The name on the box is SecondLife, respect the character in front of you and RP with what you see.
9 – Assume all doors are locked, unless they are open or automatically open.
Break-in roleplay should be notecarded and sent to a GM and owner for approval. Until approved, assume you were unsuccessful.
10 – This is not a AFK sex sim. People seated on furniture are not to be joined without consent, either through roleplay or IMs. Violators of this rule will be violated by GMs. You have been warned, ignorance is no excuse.
