Combat Rules
1 – Characters level 100 and above are open to attack via the CCS at all times.
However, aggressive RP can also be resolved through RP/dice rolls/skill casts upon agreement of all parties involved.
For players level 99 and below, you are protected, but role-playing aggressively will open you up for CCS attack or roleplay/dicebased combat. In all cases, you must resolve aggressive RP in some manner either via RP/dice rolls/skill casts or CCS.
However, if a level 99 or below character started a fight, feel free to engage. “Fuck around and find out” – ICA = ICC)
Any character under level 100 must show their level on their CCS meter. This can be found under the “show stats/hide stats” button in the menu.
- No Safe Zones: There are no safe zones in CoLA!
We ask that you refrain from fighting in the subway so people can rez and enter the city in peace. Otherwise there are no safe places to go.
Factions and characters may try to designate area “in character” as “safe zones”, such as “no fighting in the Zodiac Lounge” but that does not prevent combat from taking place.)
- No laggers, no troll huds. Violators will be banned.
- No movement enhancers in combat!
(No flash steps, jump assists, SI blade special moves, flight assists, wall climbers, teleports, prim sit, etc. are to be used during combat. . Using these enhancements will result in disciplinary actions being taken.
Due to the height of many of the buildings in the new CoLA you may use movement enhancers to enter combat with someone attacking you from a roof top or other high place such as a sniper. )
- You must have an IC (in character) reason for combat.
(Role play is NOT required prior to combat, though it is preferred and leads to fewer hard feelings. Naturally circumstances sometimes dictate “sneak” attacks or you are acting on the results from a previous role play encounter and don’t need to repeat it all over again before attacking. Do not engage a fight for OOC reasons or based on OOC information!)
- Weapons allowed in CoLA: CCS official weapons only. If unsure if its up to date, or allowed, ask a GM or ask in group chats.
- No comm use once combat has started, be that CCS, or aggressive RP.
