DICE COMBAT

Dice combat is an option if both players agree not to use CCS combat.

  • Use the CCS HUD dice roller only.
  • You can find it under RP Tools.
  • It is the dice icon in the centre.

How It Works

  1. One player writes an attempted attack.
  2. Both players roll.
  3. Add the two dice together.
  4. Highest roll wins.
  • Attacker wins = the hit lands.
  • Defender wins = they dodge, block, or avoid it.
  • Tie = roll again.
  1. The person replying writes what happened, then makes one attempted attack back.
  2. Repeat until someone reaches 0 Hearts.

Example – If the Attack Lands

Player A posts:

“Bob tries to punch Susan in the face.”

Both players roll:

Bob rolls 6.

Susan rolls 2.

Bob has the higher roll, so Bob’s attack lands. Susan loses 1 Heart.

Player B posts: “Susan is hit in the face and stumbles back, one hand coming up to her jaw. Gritting her teeth, she then tries to kick Bob in the stomach.”

Now both players roll again for Susan’s attack.

Example – If the Attack Misses

Player A posts: “Bob tries to punch Susan in the face.”

Both players roll:

Bob rolls 3.

Susan rolls 8.

Susan has the higher roll, so Bob’s attack does not land.

Player B posts: “Susan ducks away from Bob’s punch before it can connect. She then steps forward and tries to kick Bob in the stomach.”

Now both players roll again for Susan’s attack.

Handy-Dandy Flow Chart!

Player A emotes an attack attempt.

Both players roll.

Highest total wins.

Attacker Wins = Hit Lands

Defender Wins = Hit Misses, Is Dodged, or Is Blocked

Tie = Both players roll again

Player B emotes the result of Player A’s attack. Then Player B emotes their own attack attempt. This is one post.

Both players roll again.

Repeat until someone reaches 0 Hearts.

As of June, 2022 these are our current rules for dice combat. – Things like healing or armor, skills that you would have with CCS are not being accounted for at this time with this system. If we feel or see a need for that to change in the future, we will modify the rules to add that in. – For now, this is how we would like the dice combat to be used in it’s simplest form to test it out and make sure everyone understands how to use it and roleplay with it. If you encounter any issues while using this system, please contact a GM.
